The patent describes a technology in which a sensor is used to trace a person’s finger and fingerprint and determine, based on that, if they have proper credentials. Remarkably, the iOS 7 re-designed Lock screen appears to be a step in this direction as it enables you to unlock your device by just swiping just about anywhere on screen rather swiping on slide button ‘slide to unlock‘.
We have been a little anxious of the fingerprint sensors in the new iOS devices, based on our own experience with these kinds of sensors in the laptops, so we will hope that the Apple will appears with such solution that also works, and does not wind up by frustrating us.
