For Windows users:
- Uninstall iTunes 12.1 completely including Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support and iCloud etc nothings to left which belongs to iTunes
- Rename the iTunes Library.itl file to Library.bak. Which is located in “C:\Users[your username]\Music\iTunes” [in Windows] and “~/Music/iTunes” [in Mac]
- Reboot your PC
- And finally download and install iTunes 12.0.1 from these links (Windows 32-bit , Windows 64-bit).
For Mac users:
- From pacifist.com download Pacifist and install it
- By using Activity Monitor stop iTunes and all of its remnants
- Download iTunes 12.0.1 and just mount it [no need to install]
- Open the Pacifist program which you have installed in above step
- Click the button called “Open Package” and then in left side bar under Devices click iTunes – > install iTunes and then click Open button in bottom
- Click on Install when everything is load up. And just follow the on-screen instructions
- A pop-up message will appear saying “Application already exists”. Just click the “Don’t ask again for this installation” check box and click the Replace button
- After couple of minutes the iTunes 12.0.1 will be installed.
