Since iOS 10 is under beta testing stage, people expecting that iOS 9.3.3 would be the last and final public update before any big Apple firmware update but it is not true. Apple released another security update iOS 9.3.4 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices.
This release was almost bound to happen, particularly with the recent Pangu/PP jailbreak for iOS 9.2-iOS 9.3.3 firmwares. People maybe thinking that this latest iOS firmware offer for iPhone/iPad. But according to official change log the new iOS 9.3.4 is actaually “an important security update”.
Those who want to get this latest release, can simply using the OTA update now which is available on compatible iOS devices. If someone missing the OTA update, then another trusty method is direct downloading iOS 9.3.4 IPSW file and restore it with latest iTunes on your device.
What means by the above change log statement, “an important security update”, in fact Apple has patch the latest iOS 9.3.3 firmware in iOS 9.3.4. As per Apple’s security document:
“IOMobileFrameBuffer: Available for: iPhone 4s and later, iPad 2 and later, iPod touch (5th generation) and later. Impact: An application may be able to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. Description: A memory corruption issue was addressed through improved memory handling. CVE-2016-4654: Team Pangu.”
