Actually Facebook grabs your current location through Wi-Fi router or GPS, and then affixes it with all your posts so all your friends can track you that where you are. But beside sharing something I don’t want to share my location but it does. Here’s a simple trick to stop Facebook by sharing your location.
Whenever you write a post on your wall through Facebook app, you’ll notice a little gray colored description about your current location in lower-left corner of status box. But by doing some little settings you can now put your privacy back in its place.
Yesterday I have open the settings of my Facebook app and I came across a useful setting under Location which is provided by the Facebook since April 2014, but new for me. By default this setting is enabled.
How To Stop Facebook Location Tracking
Actually, if you search the account and privacy settings, you will never find a location-sharing feature to turn it off. Nevertheless, it is so easy to turn it off.
- Launch your Facebook app
- At bottom of navigation pane tap on More
- Then hit Account Settings – > Location
- Simply switch off the Location History setting here
The good news is, that Facebook is not tracking my location anymore because I disable the location services completely for the Facebook app. If you need to disable the Facebook location service on your device then just navigate to Settings –> Location Services and turn this toggle off to completely disable the Facebook location service.
