Security specialist come across a new serious security issue for all devices which are jailbroken. Basically this new iOS malware called “KeyRaider” has been found on lots of jail-broken devices; which intercepts iTunes traffic to get Apple account info such as ID along with password. It has already stolen over 250,000 Apple accounts up to now.
How-To Scan iPhone, iPad For KeyRaider iOS Malware
A new Cydia app called DylibSearch although in beta but it helps you to quickly examine your device for any known malicious apps or tweaks, such as KeyRaider, installed on your jailbroken device. It actually does so by checking all of the contents of .dylib files inside the MobileSubstrate folder for strings related to KeyRaider.
But if you have already installed some pirated packages or repos and worried about your device, then simply install this jailbreak app and scan your device for this new malware.
Here’s to download and install DylibSearch.
- Launch Cydia and add following repo: http://wolfposd.github.io/
- Search and install the DylibSearch and then from home screen launch it.
After scanning the device a list will be shown with some check marks, green ticks mean files are ok and red check mark showing all the infected files, as shown in below image.
After getting the red checked marks files means your iPhone, iPad is affected by KeyRaider. Just note down the name of the files and then download and install iOS file manager app such as iFile from Cydia. Go-to folder “/Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries” and here find all those files provided by DylibSearch and delete them.
