Saurik released a brand new tool called Cydia Impactor, which allows you to restore your jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to stock firmware or in other words to unjailbreak your iOS device by reverting all the changes made by jailbreak. Here’s how to restore iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch with Cydia Impactor. By using this guide your device will be restore back to stock configuration with without updating iOS firmware.
This tool will remind you the most popular tools such Semi-restore a and iLEX RAT, but the big deal is the Cydia Impactor is designed by the Saurik himself.
Note: This tool is made available for iOS 8.3 – iOS 8.4 and current version is beta. Before applying anything it is better to take backup, because this will erase all the settings and apps data. Secondly it will also remove the jailbreak of your device. So proceed with caution as we are not responsible for any kind of damage.
It is also important to mention that after applying this tool you will need to reactivate your iOS device. Saurik even suggests that leave your device while Cydia Impator is running and your device is 100% charged. Cydia Impactor is not supporting iPod touch (6th generation), because there is no OTA available for this device.
How To Restore iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch With Cydia Impactor
- First of all take device backup via iTunes or iCloud
- Plug your device with power outlet
- From Cydia repository install Cydia Impactor
- Launch Cydia Impactor and down the screen hit “delete all data and unjailbreak device“, then hit “Delete All” button to confirm the action and just leave your device un-touch
- After the process is completed the welcome screen will appear and just go through device setup and activation process.
That’s all, your device will restore back to stock firmware. If you want to jailbreak again just use the same tool to re-jailbreak.
